Church to host interfaith service for Sri Lanka bombing victims

North Christian Church, 850 Tipton Lane, is hosting an interfaith memorial service for the bombing victims in Sri Lanka at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The purpose of the gathering is to bring the community together to honor the victims and their families and to stand up with groups targeted by terrorism, which are often minority religious groups, said the Rev. Tonja M. Gerardy, pastor at North Christian. Christians are a minority in Sri Lanka, she said.

Representatives from the Hindu Society, the Jewish congregation, the Islamic community, the Unitarian Universalist congregation and the Christian community will be speaking.
