COLUMBUS
Gregory “Greg” Adkins, 67, of Columbus, passed away at 7:56 a.m. Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Greg was born June 11, 1951, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of James and Monica Kidwell Adkins. On June 19, 1976, he married Kristin E. Berkey in Columbus, Indiana.
Mr. Adkins retired from Daniel Hayden Electric Company after many years of service. He coached little league baseball for several years. Greg enjoyed antique shopping and reading. His love of music led him to play the drums for many bands over the years. He appreciated nature and being outdoors, especially bird watching and wild flowers. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kristin; sons, Ben Adkins and Mark (Natalie) Adkins, both of Columbus; grandson, Caleb Gorbett-Adkins; sister, Beverly Pardieck of Richmond; brothers, James (Katherine) Adkins of Lexington, Mark (Judye) Adkins of Charlotte, N.C.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, William Pardieck.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, cremation will take place and a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with Father Kyle Rodden presiding. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
