Students will stroll through an enchanted garden during this year’s Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. prom.
Juniors and seniors from Columbus East, Columbus North and Columbus Signature Academy — New Tech high schools will have their joint prom from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday at The Commons.
The theme for the BCSC prom is “Enchanted Garden.” When students step into the building, they’ll be immersed into a scenery of deep purples, blush pinks and rose gold. The theme was decided by a prom committee of about 30 students from all three high schools.
Attendees will arrive to the event around 8 p.m. using different methods of transportation ranging from semi-trucks and boats to firetrucks and floats in a parade-like atmosphere, something prom coordinator Tonya Cruser said has become a tradition.

A red carpet will be rolled out along Fourth Street to Washington Street for students to enter as parents stand along Washington Street taking pictures of the arrival.
Third Street extending from Jackson Street to Lafayette Avenue will be closed. Fifth Street at Jackson and Washington streets will also be barricaded.
Gramz Bakery will provide desserts and beverages at the event, and Darin Arbuckle will be the DJ on site.
A free photography area with two setups and photographers will also be available on site. Students will be given a “Pic Tic” when they purchase their prom ticket to have three photos taken with whomever they choose. Students will receive a USB device with their photos, their prom favor, to print their photos.
The prom court featuring 30 king and queen candidates — five male and five female seniors from each high school — will be introduced with the winners being crowned at 10:30 p.m.
All guests are invited to an after-prom celebration at Foundation for Youth, 405 Hope Ave., that will be held until 3:30 a.m.
Tickets for After Prom are free and are available at the bookstore. Free shuttles will run every 15 minutes until 4 a.m. from the Cummins parking lot to FFY.
