Tim Grimm’s Americana Music Series has brought in enough superb folk writer-performers over the years to fill a good-sized festival or two. John Gorka is slated to perform at 7:30 p.m. May 17 at the Unitarian Universal Church building, 7850 W. Goeller Blvd. He understands the genre’s roots well enough to have mixed with such pioneers as Tom Paxson in the early days. Tickets are $20 in advance at Viewpoint Books in downtown Columbus or $25 at the door.
