SEYMOUR
Martha Lee Young, age 95, of Seymour, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Keepsake Village of Columbus. Born September 28, 1923 in Greenwood, Missouri, she was the daughter of William A. and Eppa (Riech) Jones. On March 22, 1943 in Knob Noster, MO, she married Robert W. Young who passed in 1987.
Martha was a secretary at Riley Elementary School and worked for a time at Beards. She was a member of the Central Christian Church and Phi Beta Psi Sorority.
She was an avid bridge player and leaves behind many fellow beloved bridge players. Martha loved reading and spending time with her Central Christian senior’s group. She loved traveling and once traveled around the world.
Survivors include her daughter Annette (Tom) Waldkoetter of Seymour; two grandchildren, Annalisa Waldkoetter of Seymour and Darrin (Jennifer) Waldkoetter of Port St. Lucie, FL; Darrin’s daughters, Kenzie, Sydney and Giana; sister, Mrs. Matthew (Bettye) Grubb of Seymour. Martha also leaves behind one niece, Pam Tauler and one great niece, Kim Fish.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers; Harry L. Jones and Leon Jones; longtime companion, Gene Farrow and niece Beth Fish.
Rev. Rick Grant and Robin Everhart will perform services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Central Christian Church. Friends can visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
