Commission approves money for new kidscommons exhibit and Commons playground

The Bartholomew County Recreation, Convention and Visitor Promotion Commission has approved a 2020 funding proposal that includes special project funding for a new exhibit at the kidscommons and Commons playground upgrades.

The commission approved providing $100,000 for a new exhibit at kidscommons and $100,000 for planned upgrades to the Commons playground.

The proposal also includes $1.44 million in funding for the destination marketing activities of the Columbus Visitors Center.

The commission was established by local ordinance in 1986 to oversee the lawful distribution of revenue generated by the 5% innkeepers tax adopted by Bartholomew County.
