An Indiana non-profit is gearing up to hold a 5K run and walk in Columbus to benefit local law enforcement programs.
The event, called the Blue Line 5K, will be held by non-profit Behind the Badge Indiana. The race will start at 8 a.m. on Sept. 7 at Hamilton Community Center and Ice Arena, located at 2501 Lincoln Park Drive.
The event seeks to benefit local law enforcement programs, such as Bartholomew County DARE and Shop with a Cop, according to the event’s Facebook page, where registration is available.
Registrations for the adult 5K run and 5K walk cost $25. The junior 5K run and 5K walk cost $20. Participants must be no older than 16 years of age to participate in the junior 5K walk and run event, said Georgina Butler, president of Behind the Badge Indiana.
Behind the Badge Indiana is a non-profit created by families of law enforcement officers that seeks to support law enforcement officers, their families and their communities.
