Billy Joe Olmstead, 47, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed from this life at 3:05 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2019 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Billy was born May 16, 1972, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Elvin and Sue Lovins Olmstead.
Earlier in life, Billy had worked at the former Chase Printing in Columbus, then he worked in various factories and currently was working in a factory in Jeffersonville in their sawmill.
Billy attended the English Christian Church in Carrollton. Billy had a passion for working on small engines and car motors and he enjoyed all types of music.
Billy is survived by his parents, Elvin and Sue Olmstead of Carrollton, Kentucky; brothers, Randy (Kim) Olmstead of Columbus and Steve Olmstead of Seymour; a sister, Katrina (Joe) English of Columbus; nieces and nephews, Dustin, Courtney, Michael, April and Nicholas; great-nephews, Isiah, Noah and Bryson; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Gracie Lovins and Grant and Elnora Olmstead and a nephew, Drake Olmstead.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; Brother Keith Miller will officiate.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Billy will be laid to rest at South Bethany Cemetery on Youth Camp Road in Columbus.
