Bert Hanou, 74, died peacefully on August 15 following a brief illness. While born in Amsterdam, Holland, he lived in Columbus from 1953 until 2017, when he moved to Colorado. He was the son of the late John T and Fredrica H Hanou and is survived by brothers Frank Hanou of Golden, CO, John Hanou of Severna Park, MD, and Tom Hanou of Stevensville, MT.
Bert was an avid golfer and managed to score eleven holes-in-one! He loved hunting and fishing. He was also a history buff, especially concerning the Civil War, and loved country music. Bert was simply one of those people that everyone liked. He will be interned at Garland Brook Cemetery in the family plot.
A graveside service is planned for Friday, August 30 at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome.
