The Hayden Historical Museum will host Auto Daze Gone By, a living history event, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The museum is located at 6715 W. County Road 20S in Jennings County.
The museum wants transform its property into a giant, one-day display of classic cars, trucks and, for the first time, motorcycles. There will be no entry fees, judging, prizes or awards — just an opportunity to show off vehicles.
Some events for the day include:
An all-you-care-to-eat breakfast at the Hayden United Methodist Church’s social hall from 7 to 10 a.m.
The Luke Elsner Memorial Walk and Run. Registration starts at 7 a.m. in the Hayden Elementary School parking lot. The walk and run begins at 8 a.m.
A pie baking contest. Contestants can bring their fruit pies to the museum kitchen from 9 to 11 a.m., after which they will be judged on appearance and taste. The top three pies will be auctioned at noon. The remaining pies will be sliced up and made available for donations.
A “scoop the loop” at 3:30 p.m. when classic vehicles will drive a parade lap around Hayden.
The Spencer Township Volunteer Fire Department will serving barbecue chicken dinners at their firehouse from noon to 7 p.m. Cost of the dinner is $10.
