Pence, second lady, visit Indy for American Legion conference

INDIANAPOLIS — Vice President and Columbus native Mike Pence and his wife Karen visited Indianapolis Wednesday where Pence gave a speech at the American Legion convention.

Second Lady Karen Pence was honored with the American Legion Auxiliary Public Spirit Award at the convention, which is at the Indiana Convention Center.

Pence’s speech focused on foreign policy, veterans and the fight against terrorism.

The American Legion expects nearly 10,000 people to make their way to Indianapolis for the convention this week. The organization provides support and services for veterans.
