Closings announced for Labor Day

The following locations will be closed Monday for Labor Day.

Columbus City Hall will be closed.

There will be no city trash/recycling/brush or compost pickup on Monday. Collections will run one day behind the regularly scheduled day, with Friday’s collections on Saturday. Toters should be out by 7 a.m.

Columbus City Utilities will be closed Monday. Regular business hours resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Customers with a problem with water or sewer service should call 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.

Bartholomew County Courthouse and county offices will be closed.

All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle branches are closed Saturday through Monday. Branches resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday.

The Republic offices will be closed but The Republic will publish a Monday edition. Circulation issues should be reported to 812-379-5601 before 10 a.m.

Post Offices throughout the Greater Indiana District will be closed on Monday. There will be no mail delivery or caller service on that day. All services resume on Tuesday. Customers who wish to purchase stamps, mail packages, or ship urgent letters or packages may use the self-service kiosks available at select post offices.
