Amanda Roark, 42, of Scipio passed away at 3:24 PM August 29, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana after battling illness for awhile.
Amanda C. (Staples) Roark was born February 13, 1977 to Ed and Linda Staples in Columbus, Indiana.
Amanda greatly enjoyed her children, and being a stay at home mom. She also always enjoyed family get togethers. She always wanted to be where there was laughter and fun. She was also a boy’s baseball coach for several years at the Scipio Baseball Park.
Amanda previously worked at the St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in the custodial department.
Amanda was deeply rooted in her children’s lives and would often be busy taking them to school activities and other functions in their lives.
Amanda was always known as a fighter for life by everyone that knew her. She was born with complications at birth, then later in life she battled through Thyroid Cancer and came out of that event even stronger.
Amanda married Jonathan Roark on August 31, 2007. They have four children Emily Acton (Derrick), Mason, Abigail, and Megan Roark. They all survive.
Also surviving is her father Ed Staples, and two brothers Matt, and Michael Staples.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Staples and her maternal Grandparents, Dennis and Thelma Neal.
A Funeral Service for Amanda will be held Tuesday, September 3 at 12 p.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Joe Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 2 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorial donations in Amanda’s name may be made to the St. Vincent House.
