A local man was arrested on several charges Tuesday morning after a fight was reported at a Columbus motel.
Columbus police were sent to the Econo Lodge Motel at 161 Carrie Lane at 8:10 a.m., said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
When officers arrived, they observed blood stains on a motel door and could hear a disturbance inside. Officers entered the room and observed a man, later identified as Logan S. Woodard, 20, of 1111 Kevin Drive -1D, punching another man in the head, Harris said.
The officers ordered Woodard to stop, and when he continued to fight, an electronic stun device was deployed, Harris said.
Woodard was taken into custody a short time later and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of battery, resisting law enforcement and illegal consumption, Harris said.
Woodard was being held at the jail in lieu of $12,500 bond, jail officials said.
