COLUMBUS
Robert J. McCawley, 71, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at 4:10 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family.
Robert was born January 16, 1948, in Glasgow, Kentucky, the son of Lorenzie and Edna Mae Jonson McCawley. He married Barbara Jones on May 14, 1994.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Barbara; step-children, James (Susan) Albertson, Leland Ray (Joanne Childers) Albertson, Teresa Dougherty, Michael Albertson, all of Columbus; children, Betsy (Joey) Hepburn of Hope, Angela Dawn (Eric) Foist of Columbus, Eric (Dolly) Edmonds of Seymour; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy Allen (Toni) Grider of Columbus, Ronnie Grimesly; sisters, Billie Sue Waggoner of TN., Beverly Gross of Scipio; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Shelia McCawley Fields, Glena Faye Redmond; brothers, Richard Grider, Russell Grider and sister, Barbara Hattabaugh.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, cremation will take place and there are no services planned at this time.
