HOPE, INDIANA
Carolyn Bernese Thompson, age 71, of Hope, IN passed away Tuesday October 1, 2019 at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Monday October 7, 2019 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Elder Dereck Mobley and Elder Nathan York officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until Noon Monday at the funeral home. Bernese will be laid to rest in Hawcreek Cemetery, Hope, IN. The family has requested memorial contributions in memory of Bernese be made to the Hawcreek Cemetery Association through the funeral home.
Bernese was born June 3, 1948 in Edmonton Kentucky to the late Henry Gordon Froedge and Annie Gertrude Harper Froedge.
She was an active member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin and loved her church family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and genealogy research.
She married John W. Thompson on June 6, 1964 and he survives.
She is also survived by 3 sons, Paul (Keri) Thompson of Columbus, Jeffrey (Amy) Thompson of Hope and Larry (Nancy) Thompson of Columbus; a brother, Ronnie Dale (Teresa) Froedge of Columbus and 5 sisters, Barbara (Wayne) Pierce, Judy (Malcolm) Bragg and Janice (Kenton) Gosser, all of Flat Rock and Stella Asbury and Betty Wicker both of Hope. Bernese also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren whom she adored.
Bernese was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Froedge.
