FREETOWN, INDIANA

Makalia W. Robinson, 23, of Freetown, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life Friday morning, October 4, 2019 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Jackson County.

Makalia was born September 27, 1996, in Columbus, Indiana, the loving daughter of Wayne Robinson and Rhonda F. Burns Robinson.

Makalia was a 2015 graduate of Columbus North High School.

Makalia had worked with her father at PMG Indiana and later worked at NTN Driveshaft. Since 2017, Makalia has worked at Plant 2 at Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Inc.

Makalia had a passion for off roading, archery and target practicing with her dad.

Makalia is survived by her father and stepmother, Wayne and Tonya Robinson of Columbus; her mother, Rhonda Robinson and her companion, Doug Turner of Columbus; sisters, Brandy (Corey) Douglas of Seymour, Chelsea Turner of Columbus, Tasha (Ian) Leary of Columbus and Bridget Baxter of Columbus; brothers, Branden Turner of Columbus, Bret Baxter and his companion, Rebecca Redman of Columbus and Aaron Baxter of Columbus; her paternal grandfather, Ernest Carl Robinson and his companion, Joyce Vallato of Indianapolis; her maternal grandmother, Alice Burns of Columbus; many aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and numerous friends.

Makalia was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Vina Shirley.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; Makalia’s great-uncle, Larry Calhoun will officiate.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 12 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Makalia will be laid to rest at the Shiloh Separate Baptist Church Cemetery on Georgetown Road.

The family asks that memorial contributions in memory of Makalia be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society or the Riley Children’s Foundation.
