A combination junior varsity/freshman football squad from Columbus East combined to post a 37-14 win against Bedford North Lawrence.
Javeon Smith and Ty Uphaus each ran for two touchdowns, and Tommy Anderson ran for one score for the Olympians. Uphaus and Trevor Kennedy ran for 2-point conversions, and Uphaus threw a 2-point conversion pass to Tyler Thompson.
East’s JV improves to 3-3 overall and remains undefeated in the Hoosier Hills Conference.
HOCKEY
Icemen down Blades
The Columbus Icemen skated to a 4-1 win against Bloomington Blades White.
Brayson Bennett netted one goal and two assists, Ty Boone added one goal and one assist and Wil Tearman and Josh Surette each scored one goal for the Icemen. Logan Morris, John Ferguson and Barrett Mudd all had one assist.
Evan Kuzman recorded 19 saves on 20 shots on goal.

HPW hosts ‘Boogiemania’
Hoosier Pro Wrestling hosted "Boogiemania" last weekend at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds.
Buck Sexton pinned Cole County Crusher, and Corvus beat Ace Jackson. Dodo Brown pinned Guy Lombardo to win the HPW Cruiserweight title with special guest referee, WWE Hall of Famer Handsome Jimmy Boogie Woogie Man Valiant.
Dynamite Dillen beat Kevo, then was attacked by his partner Buck Sexton and his new manager D Rose. Shiloh Jonzs pinned Randall Floyd, Drax O’Brien pinned Bubbie James and Cooter battled Scarecrow to a DDQ.
HPW returns to Columbus Nov. 2 for its 21-Year Anniversay show and its 16th Annual Firemen’s Cheer Fund Toy Drive. Doors open at 7 p.m., and bell time is 7:45 p.m. Admission is $13, with kids 4 and under free.
