Stephen Heiwig, 83, passed away from this world peacefully at home on Saturday, October 12. He was surrounded by his family.
Stephen was born in Seymour, Indiana to the late Arthur and Katherine Heiwig. He was married to Sue Vornholt Heiwig, on December 22, 1956, she survives.
Steve graduated from IU in 1958, with a B.S. in Business. He enjoyed working with small businesses, spending the last 20 years of his career as the proprietor of Picture This at the Fair Oaks Mall.
Most of all Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, IU sports, teaching his grandchildren to fly fish, and spending time on the tennis court.
Mr. Heiwig was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church serving as an usher, greater and a communion assistant.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his wife, Sue, other survivors include daughter, Staci (Jay) Adams; son Stephan Heiwig; grandchildren, Courtney (Matt) Brandvik, Nicholas Rich; and great-granddaughter Katherine Brandvik.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and 9:30 a.m. to time of service Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
