Deputies arrest man clad in only a shirt and underwear causing disturbance in a hotel

Chad W. Corwin

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a California man who was causing a disturbance while wearing only a shirt and underwear at a hotel in the 11000 block of North U.S. 31 in Taylorsville.

The caller reported the man making the disturbance at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday and when deputies arrived, they found Chad Corwin, 46, Galt, California, asleep in the lobby of a hotel.

Corwin attempted several times to walk away from deputies before he was placed under arrest, deputies said. Corwin then resisted and following a brief struggle, Corwin was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement, deputies said.

It was discovered that Corwin, who told officers that “he was going to his room”, was actually staying in a hotel located on the opposite side of the highway, deputies said.

Corwin has been released from the Bartholomew County Jail.
