Pioneers sweep Panthers

FLOYDS KNOBS — Class 4A No. 3 Providence was too much for Jennings County in a 25-12, 25-5, 25-14 decision in the opening round of the Class 4A Floyd Central Sectional.

The Panthers finish the season 10-21.

Hawks fall to Angels

YORKTOWN — The Columbus Hawks wrapped up their regular season with a 25-18, 25-15, 25-22 loss to the Anderson Angels in a game played in Yorktown.

Sarah Lorimor led the Hawks (6-22-3) with 11 assists and five aces. Lila Hudson pounded seven kills, Caleigh Owen had two blocks, Hailey Beth Rutledge tallied 26 digs and Lila Hudson served five aces.

Also for the Hawks, Owen notched four kills. Elisabeth White and Natalie Arnold each added 10 digs.
