Letter: Burnett great city council candidate for Columbus

From: Bryan Rushton

Columbus

I’ve known Josh Burnett for some time now, first in his pastoral role but now as a friend for several years. I first came to know Josh during a very difficult time in his family’s life, as his wife was fighting with an illness and living in a different state from his hometown, with two young children. What struck me immediately was how willing Josh was to share his struggles, showing a genuine vulnerability, which I believe was a true strength that allowed him to lead, connect and encourage others with positivity and hope, even when he did not have all the answers.

After returning to his hometown and seeing that newfound appreciation, love and passion for Columbus grow, it has been amazing to see already the positive changes Josh has been able to bring to this community as he seeks to share and educate. I have watched him become a student of the things that make our community unique when we did Leadership Bartholomew County together, and strive to seek only solutions that will enable this community to continue to thrive and grow for all.

Because of all this, I believe Josh will make a terrific member of the Columbus City Council as an at-large member, and I wholeheartedly endorse his campaign for election.
