Columbus Symphony Orchestra Music Director Josh Aerie will lead the ensemble in its opening concert — and the launch of his fifth season at the helm — at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at The Commons, 300 Washington St. in downtown Columbus. The symphony is considered one of the state’s oldest continuous music ensembles.

The concert, titled “Portraits In Sound,” will include Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” (orchestrated by Maurice Ravel), as well as works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Bela Bartok.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
