A new co-working space called “The Workshop” will have a preview to introduce the new space to the community.
Jayson Tovey and Travis Perry, co-owners of Tovey-Perry Properties, are opening The Workshop at 4389 N. Long Road. The co-working space has two types of spaces, co-working spaces and workshop suites.
The owners said they hope to create a community of professionals who will share space, build relationships, solve problems, celebrate and “commiserate,” according to a news release.

“We needed to expand the office space for our existing business and thought it was a great opportunity to provide a service that is missing in Columbus,” Perry said.
The space is being designed for individuals who work alone, in a small team or those who work from home, but need a place to meet clients.
The owners said The Workshop is a way for growing companies to take their businesses to the next level without committing to the monthly expenses of an independent space.
Memberships will be available for those who need full-time dedicated space along with “wayfarer” memberships for those who wish part-time space, the owners said.
The building was designed by a local firm, Louis Joyner Architect, with ergonomic workspaces.
At just over 1,300 square feet, the units are designed to be small shop spaces for staging, prep, shipping and for those with warehousing needs, the owners said. The suites are also “great for makers, artists and creatives,” Perry said.
A preview event for the space is planned from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Oddfellows Building Ballroom, 605 Washington St., at the Lofts entrance.
A representative of the Bartholomew County Historical Society will attend to share some information about the Oddfellows Building.
