JASPER — The Trinity Lutheran volleyball team is headed back to the state finals.
The Class A top-ranked Cougars made quick work of No. 8 Bloomifield in Saturday’s Jasper Semistate, winning 25-16, 25-15, 25-11 to advance to the state finals for the second time and the first since 2011.
Hannah Sabotin led Trinity with 15 kills and six blocks. Bailey Reynolds recorded 31 assists, Kamzi Gross tallied 18 digs and Elly Carter served two aces.
Also for the Cougars, Kennedy Hoffman notched nine kills, four blocks and one ace; Bailey Tabeling added seven kills and two blocks and Sydney Jaynes pounded six kills. Stella Kleffman contributed six digs, Reynolds had five digs and one ace and Gross served one ace.
Trinity (30-5) will play for the Class A state title against Cowan at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ball State’s Worthen Arena.
