HOPE
Robert Douglas Swartz, 55, of Hope, passed away at 9:43 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope.
He was born on February 16, 1964 in Columbus, the son of Murrel Robert “Bob” and Vivian Eleanor (Lee) Swartz. Robert was a resident of Grammer the majority of his life, having lived in Hope the past 10 years. He enjoyed trains and train rides, reading books and magazines, tractors and kitty cats.
He is survived by his sister, Deanna Kay (Robert) Reed of Greenfield; his brother, Darrel Lee (Nancy) Swartz of Grammer; his nieces, Rene (Donnie) Whicker, Heather Lee Martin of Sparta, Tennessee; his great nieces, Anna Lynn (James) Modlin of Grammer and Keonna Martin of Sparta, Tennessee; a great nephew, Odie Martin of Sparta, Tennessee and great-great nieces, Mila & Stormie Modlin of Grammer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Darin Printz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Jeff Thayer and Eric Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Developmental Services of Columbus or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
