Due to a forecast of freezing weather, this year’s Veterans Day program will take place inside at the Cal Brand meeting room at Columbus City Hall, instead of outside at the Bartholomew County Memorial for Veterans.
The solemn remembrance will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday. The program is traditionally held on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of every year.
All aspects of the traditional observance will be held inside the large meeting room on City Hall’s first floor, with the exception of the memorial balloon release and the three-rifle volleys by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard, planning committee member Mark Pillar said.
Both of those elements of the observance will take place outside City Hall in view of the large window in the meeting room, planning committee member Mark Pillar said.
