COLUMBUS
Sonna J. Rayburn, 81, of Columbus, passed from this life at 4:21 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Rayburn was born February 10, 1938, in Rush County; she was the daughter of Ebert M. and Vivian Esther Dutro Wagoner.
She married John Alan Rayburn August 26, 1962. He preceded her in death March 21, 2006.
Sonna was a former member of Grammar Presbyterian Church and Bartholomew County Beef Cattle Association.
She was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church, a 43 year member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Joseph Hart Chapter where she held many offices at the state and national level, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star, Bartholomew County Extension Homemakers, and many other organizations.
Survivors include her sons, Tom Rayburn, Steve (Darla) Rayburn and Dan Rayburn all of Columbus; and her grandchildren, Matthew Rayburn, Tyler (his fiance Marissa) Rayburn and Stephanie Rayburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Marcus D. Speer officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to time of service Wednesday at the funeral.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
