Evelyn L. Gamble, 99, of Nashville, formerly of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Brown County Health & Living Community.

Evelyn was born December 10, 1919, in Chicago, the daughter of Roland E. and Eva M. Anderson Burnett.

Mrs. Gamble was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and A to Z Extension Homemakers.

She was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving with the WAVES during WWII.

Survivors include her children, Eva L. Henry of Columbus and Henry (Susan) Gamble of Arkansas; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bud Burnett; and sisters, Alice Larson, Beth Saas and Anne Grindle.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Todd Riordan officiating. Military honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Unit and Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m.to time of service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice of charity.

Private inurnment will be at a later date at Garland Brook Cemetery.
