COLUMBUS
Bobby R. Allen, 72, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at his home.
Mr. Allen was born January 14, 1947, in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Paul E. and Laura Marie Miller Allen. On February 6, 1981, Bobby married Rebecca R. Tellas; she survives.
For many years, Mr. Allen was an over-the-road truck driver, he last drove for Columbus Warehouse.
He was a lifelong mechanic and he enjoyed working on cars.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Rebecca; children, Bobby (Michelle) Allen of Columbus, Naomi (Bob) Lowell of Columbus, Martha (Tony) Soto of Franklin, Paul Allen of Columbus, John (Tara) Goode of Waldron, Lawson Allen of Columbus, April (Mike) Pruitt of Columbus, and Desiree Allen of Columbus; 34 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brothers, Danny Allen of Franklin, Timmy Allen of West Virginia, Elvis (Jessie) Allen of West Virginia, Dale Allen of West Virginia and Mike Allen and his companion, Libby of West Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death his parents, Paul and Laura Marie Allen; three sisters; and a brother.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2019 at the home Mr. Allen’s daughter, April Pruitt, 5235 Hartford Avenue, Columbus, Indiana 47203.
