BROWNSTOWN
C. Joan Fleetwood, 89, passed away December 18, 2019 after an extended illness. She was born November 20, 1930 in Bloomington, IN, to the late Alvin V. and Dora Henderson Fleetwood. She graduated from Cortland High School, Class of 1948.
Joan worked for 30 years at the U. S. Department of Agriculture in Washington D. C. for the Secretary of Agriculture, Earl Butz. She then worked as an Administrative Assistant at Onkyo American (Toyota) in Columbus, retiring in 1995. Joan was a a former member of the Upper Room Apostolic Church in New Port Richey, FL, and for the past nine years a member of the Medora Pentecostal Church.
Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Medora Pentecostal Church, 94 N. Elm St., Medora. Interment will take place Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.
Joan is survived by her loving sisters, Coleen Gray (Bernard), Judy Robinson and Gloria Williams; 14 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Medaris, and two brothers, Rev. James Robert Fleetwood and Forrest E. Fleetwood.
