EDINBURGH
Alta M. Parks, 88, of Edinburgh, passed from this life at 5:30 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Parks was born May 19, 1931, in Grayson County, Kentucky, the loving daughter of Clarence and Bertie Hornback Fulkerson. On January 15, 1954, Alta married C. Ray Parks. He preceded her in death March 18, 2019.
Mrs. Parks was a homemaker and she enjoyed reading and singing to her grandchildren.
She enjoyed membership at New Hope Christian Church.
Mrs. Parks is survived by her children, Roger (Phyllis) Parks of Idlewild, Tennessee, Michael Ray Parks of Huntsville, Alabama, Mark (Karen) Parks of Columbus and Lori (Matthew) Noffsinger of Columbus; grandchildren, Jeff Parks of Edinburgh, Jereme Parks of Lafayette, Ryan Hewitt and his fiancee, Gena Howe of Columbus, Samantha Parks and her fiancee, Logan Lykins of Columbus, Alexandra (Zachary) Bradford of Southport, Dustin Parks of Columbus and Emma (Kelsie Adams) Parks of Mishawaka; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Alex, Kyree and Kenton; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bertie Fulkerson; her husband, C. Ray Parks; infant sons, Anthony Parks and Kevin Wayne Parks; sisters, Dortha Miller and Corine Miller; two infant brothers; and brothers, Raymond Fulkerson, Calvin Fulkerson and Clarence Fulkerson Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with John Sichting officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Friday.
Mrs. Parks will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church or Love Chapel.
