COLUMBUS
Rose L. Hamlin, 89, of Columbus, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Rose was born July 2, 1930, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a hard worker, often working two jobs at a time. She worked at D.S.I., the Holiday Inn, Sam’s Club, volunteered at the food bank, Como Plastics and Cummins Engine Company. Rose enjoyed helping people.
Survivors include her children, Richard Hamlin of Norfolk, Virginia, Rosalyn Williams, Ronnie Hamlin, Trina (Bobby) Britt, Rachel Hamlin, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Akil Shakir, Bobby (Julie) Hamlin, Brandy Hamlin; great-grandchild, Samuel Hamlin; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Virgie Jean Bly Summers and brother, William Bly along with several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Faith Ministries, 5103 West State Road 46, Columbus, IN. 47201, with Pastor Jarvis Cooper officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
