JENNINGS COUNTY — Jennings County deputies responding to a report of a suspicious female arrested an Indianapolis woman on a burglary charge.
Deputies were sent to the area of State road 7 and County Road 300N at 3:20 p.m. Saturday for a suspicious person riding a bicycle in traffic, said Chief Deputy Dave Turner.
While responding to the call, Jennings County Central Dispatch received a call from a homeowner in the area who had located a woman in his garage breaking into his vehicle, Turner said.
Deputy Drew Heilers arrived in the area and located an intoxicated female who matched the description of the female on the bicycle. Through the investigation, it was determined that the female had made entry into the garage and stole items out of the victim’s vehicle, Turner said.
The female attempted to hide the items as Heilers made contact with her, however he was able to locate them and later return them to the victim, Turner said.
Jennifer L. Price, 33, Indianapolis, was taken into custody on preliminary charges of felony burglary, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony residential entry, misdemeanor criminal trespassing, misdemeanor unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor public intoxication, Turner said.
Price was being held in the Jennings County Jail.
