Bull Dogs rout Terre Haute South

TERRE HAUTE — Blake Barker poured in a career-high 30 points Friday night, and Columbus North opened its Conference Indiana schedule with a 62-32 rout at Terre Haute South.

The Bull Dogs (9-2, 1-0) led only 25-19 at halftime. But they outscored the Braves 15-7 in the third quarter to pull away, then erased any doubt with a 22-6 blitz in the final period.

Nick Schiavello added seven points for North.

Columbus Christian splits pair

Columbus Christian bounced back from a 58-56 loss to Martinsville Tabernacle Christian with a 78-75 overtime win against King’s Academy Friday in the Columbus Christian Tournament.

The Crusaders rallied from an 18-point first-half deficit against Tabernacle to take the lead in the third quarter, but couldn’t hang on. Jacob Conrad scored 16 points, and Nathan DeFriece added 15.

Gabe Ridder recorded 28 points and 14 rebounds to lead Columbus Christian (5-13) against King’s Academy. Josh Jones added 16 poins, and C.J. Reed and Conrad each had 14.

The Crusaders will finish pool play at 2:30 p.m. today against Faith Christian, then will play a placement-round game later in the day.

Crusaders take second in tourney

MARTINSVILLE — Columbus Christian won a pair of games on Thursday before falling to host Martinsville Tabernacle Christian 61-49 Friday in the championship game of the Tabernacle Tournament.

Kaitlyn Conrad and Ellie Ridder each scored 10 points for the Crusaders (13-4) on Friday. Conrad grabbed eight rebounds, and Sarah Lorimor had five steals.

Columbus Christian opened tourney play Thursday with a 47-20 win against Bloomington Lighthouse. Emma Patterson scored 12 points, and Kayla Jones added 10.

Also Thursday, the Crusaders routed Southside Christian 64-18. Ridder scored 18 points, while Lorimor had 11 rebounds and Hannah Stair added eight rebounds.

Eagles finish second in own event

NASHVILLE — Brown County routed South Central 65-14 in the semifinals of its own tournament, but fell to Bloomington South 47-38 in the championship game.

Allison Stogsdill led the Eagles (11-2) with 20 points in both games. Abby Fleetwood scored 11, and Aubrey Hollander added 10 against South Central.

Cougars split games in tournament

EDINBURGH — South Decatur bounced back from a 74-45 loss to Edinburgh in the opening round of the Edinburgh Tournament with a 50-32 win against Indianapolis Lutheran in the consolation round.

Lana Bell led the Cougars (3-11) with 19 points against Lutheran. Bell scored 21 points, and Loryn Pate added 14 against Edinburgh.
