FRANKLIN

Fred H. Brinkman, 80, of Franklin entered into rest on Sunday, December 8, 2019 in Indianapolis.

Fred was born April 20, 1939 in Bartholomew County to the late Fritz Brinkman and Vera (Campbell) Brinkman. Fred married the love of his life, Louise (Jackson) Brinkman on November 27, 1960 at First Methodist Church in Columbus.

Fred earned his Masters Degree in education from Indiana University and was an educator with Clark Pleasant Community schools for 29 years. Fred was a driver for Eye Specialists for 20 years and served on the Whiteland Town Board for eight years. Fred loved his church, Grace United Methodist where he was a proud member. Fred was a proud veteran, having served our country for 8 years with the Air Force Reserves.

Fred was a family man who loved his family and family gatherings. In his spare time, Fred was golfing or enjoying time at the casinos. He enjoyed going to Florida where he spent 12 years in Naples and previously Gulf Shores for 10 years.

Fred is survived by his loving wife Louise Brinkman of Franklin; three sons, Rick J. Brinkman (Teresa) of Greenwood, Jeff L. Brinkman (Rhonda) of Franklin and Mark A. Brinkman (Debbie) of El Paso; his grandchildren, Amber Smith (Eric) , Tyler Brinkman (Rose), Mitchell Brinkman, Taylor Goelz (Zachary), Carson Brinkman and Simone Brinkman; nephews Bruce Taggart, Scott Brinkman, Bill Brinkman and a niece Susan Ehmann.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William K. Brinkman.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 4pm, January 19, 2020 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 E. Adams Dr., Franklin, IN 46131. Calling will be from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the church. Military Honors will be conducted by the Whiteland VFW Honor Guard.

Memorial Contributions in Fred’s honor may take the form of donations to Grace United Methodist Church or The Humane Society of Johnson County Endowment Fund, 3827 Graham Rd, Franklin, IN 46131.
