A local man wanted for a Bartholomew County warrant was arrested on several charges after he was seen observed by Columbus police officers Tuesday.
At about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, CPD officers spotted Michael A. Coleman, 53, of 1026 Chestnut St., standing outside of a residence in the 1000 block of Chestnut Street, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Officers confirmed a warrant for Coleman’s arrest a short time later and he was taken into custody without incident.
While searching Coleman’s clothing, officers reportedly located marijuana as well as a pipe containing methamphetamine, Harris said. Coleman was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and the warrant.
Coleman’s bond was set at $71,000, jail officials said.
