JNET arrests local man accused of dealing in meth

Bartholomew County’s Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, assisted by the Intelligence Lead Policing Unit, arrested a local man on multiple drug-related charges after a lengthy investigation.

Christopher Hubbert, 40, Columbus, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 17 on three counts of dealing in methamphetamine, according to investigators.

At the time of his arrest, Hubbert was found to be in possession of additional narcotics and paraphernalia, investigators said.

In addition to the three counts of dealing in methamphetamine, Hubbert was also arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, a court order and two Bartholomew County warrants, investigators said.

Hubbert was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $1,867,500 bond, jail officials said.

The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, a combined unit of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, the Columbus Police Department, and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office, with the assistance of the Intelligence Lead Policing Unit, is proactively targeting the manufacturing and abuse of dangerous drugs in Columbus and Bartholomew County.
