COLUMBUS
Russell Lee Holderness, Jr, 73, of Columbus, passed away at 3:45 p.m. on January 28, 2020, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Mr. Holderness retired from Cummins in 1996 after 30 years of service. He was an avid motorcyclist and was a loyal and dedicated supporter of the Hells Angels Nomads IN. He was also a great help and asset to his friends by being the social media advisor and director of the 81 Nomads Indiana Support group. Russ also was instrumental in helping start the Abate Bikers Behind Bars program. He was a ham radio operator, KA9MZV. He also owned his own trucking company for several years.
Survivors include daughters, Ann (Jeff) Wilson, Debbie McQueen, Casey (Katrina) Spears and Wendy (Moe) Humphrey and sons, Terry Holderness, Shawn Holderness and Chris Holderness. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Russ was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Pamela E. (Bridgewater) Holderness in 2017; his parents, Bettie Woodward and Russell A. Holderness; and sisters, Darlene Hodson and Sandy Briggs.
Cremation is planned through Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with a private service.
