A North Vernon man was arrested early Monday morning on local warrants after he was reportedly seen acting suspiciously around several vehicles.
Columbus police were sent to the area of 14th and Chestnut streets at 5:10 a.m. Monday about a person looking into vehicles, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
The officers located a man a short time later who was identified as Clifford D. Roberts, 36, North Vernon and confirmed two Bartholomew County warrants for his arrest. Roberts was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail.
