School resource officers investigating alleged threat

School resource officers with the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. responded to an alleged threat on social media by a Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. student against Columbus North High School on Wednesday.

Multiple officers were sent to the home of the student before school hours and addressed the situation immediately, according to a new release from the school corporation. All students and staff were safe on the campus, BCSC officials said.

Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman, said that several student resource officers are working on the case.

“Any threat that’s made, we will have multiple officers working on it,” Harris said.

Harris said that the incident is currently under investigation by the school corporation and CPD.

“There are no developments at this time,” Harris said at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
