EDINBURGH
Gerry R. Brand, 78 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away February 21, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana In-Patient Facility in Columbus, Indiana. He was born January 18, 1942 in Shelby County, Indiana. He was the son of Raymond Brand and Annabelle (Smith) Brand Grow.
He was married to Ellen (May) Brand for 54 years and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Chad (Maribel) Brand of Edinburgh, Indiana and grandson, Cayden Brand of Edinburgh, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Max Brand.
Gerry graduated from Columbus High School, attained a BS from Campbellsville University, a MA and ranked #1 at Western Kentucky University, and an EDS from University of Akron.
He retired from Edinburgh school system as an educator after 38 years and was currently co-owner of Tri-County Auto Parts.
Mr. Brand was a member of the Community Church in Columbus, Edinburgh Masonic Lodge #100, Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, Retired Indiana Teacher Association, Indiana Association of School Principals, Who’s Who Among American Teachers, and Indiana Racking Horse Association.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, traveling, showing horses, and raising Angus cattle.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 by Reverends Lewis Burton and Mike Mantooth at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana.
Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana.
