Deputies arrest local driver on drug-related charges after traffic stop

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local woman on multiple charges after a traffic stop.

Deputies stopped the vehicle at 12:53 a.m. Monday at 10th Street and Marr Road. The driver, Allison Teipen, 38, Columbus, was driving with a suspended driver’s license and was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants, deputies said.

During the investigation, a Columbus Police Department K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics, deputies said. Suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle, deputies said.

Teipen was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, driving while suspended with a prior conviction and a Johnson County warrant, deputies said.

Teipen was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail without bond, jail officials said.
