A local man was arrested after he was accused of crashing his vehicle into a drive-thru at a fast food restaurant.
Columbus police were sent to Rally’s, 2080 N. National Road, at 9:20 p.m. Thursday about the accident, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
When the officers arrived, they observed that a man, later identified as Robert A. Wiseley, 38, of 10 S. Gladstone Ave., had crashed his Chevrolet SUV into the restaurant’s drive-through speaker box, Harris said.
While speaking with Wiseley, the officers noted that his dexterity was poor and he nodded off several times, Harris said. After failing several field sobriety tests, Wiseley submitted to a blood test at Columbus Regional Hospital and was later placed under arrest.
He was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a syringe and a Jennings County arrest warrant, jail officials said. Wiseley’s bond was set at $60,000, according to jail records.
