JENNINGS COUNTY — Jennings County Sheriff deputies arrested a Commiskey woman after they found her walking down the middle of State Road 3 in Vernon Township.

Deputies were sent to the highway on Tuesday and Sgt. Mike Mowery and Deputy Ian McPherson located the female, said Chief Deputy Dave Turner.

The female, later identified as Sarah M. Darnell, 35, said she was walking to a cousin’s house in Lovett Township, Turner said.

While talking to Darnell, they discovered she had methamphetamine, syringes, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia, Turner said.

Darnell was arrested on preliminary charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of a syringe, felony legend drug act violation and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, Turner said.

Darnell’s bond at the Jennings County Jail was set at $3,155, jail officials said.
