Cooper Horn // Columbus North freshman basketball player

Horn scored 10 points in a 69-47 win against Seymour and led the Bull Dogs with 13 points in a 62-44 victory against Center Grove.

His performance last week: “I’ve just been focusing all year on playing hard and coming off the bench and giving them energy. I’ve been pretty satisfied wit how I’ve been doing lately.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “Playing against Blake (Barker) and Nick (Schiavello) and Reese (Harmon), the ball pressure that they put on me all year helped me with the ball security and the speed of the game.”

Favorite drink: “Dr. Pepper”

Favorite food: “Chicken Cordon Bleu”

Favorite class: “English”

Favorite sports team: “Oklahoma City Thunder”

Favorite athlete: “Dwyane Wade”

Role model: “Russell Westbrook, just because of how hard he plays on the court.”

Best advice: “Get to class, do your homework and get all your homework in.”

Athletics goal: “I want to play D-I basketball.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably out to L.A. because there’s a bunch of big starts out there.”

FEMALE

Emily Moore // Columbus North sophomore gymnast

Moore won all four individual events and the all-around competition Friday to lead the Bull Dogs to the team title at the Columbus East Sectional.

Her performance last week: “I’m very proud of myself because I did win all of the events, plus the all-around.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I usually have a sandwich from Jimmy John’s.”

Favorite drink: “Strawberry Fanta”

Favorite food: “Mac and cheese”

Favorite class: “Psychology”

Favorite sports team: “UCLA gymnastics”

Favorite athlete: “Ally Raisman”

Role model: “My brother (Ryan Moore)”

Best advice: “Take your time on things, and don’t rush.”

Athletics goal: “Win state this year in at least one event.”

If you could travel anywhere: “I would probably go to Mexico because of all the beaches.”
