COLUMBUS
Curtis W. Handley, 91, of Columbus, passed from this life Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Handley was born June 8, 1928, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Street Wayne and Avonal E. Frazier Handley.
Curtis retired from Cummins Engine Company after more than 35 years of service.
He was a member of North Christian Church and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Mr. Handley enjoyed photography, antiques and auto and horse racing.
He married Shirley E. Smith June 14, 1951.
She preceded him in death October 7, 2016.
Survivors include his son, Thomas W. Handley of Columbus; sister, Anna King of Columbus; nephew, Ron (Brenda) King Columbus; niece, Valerie King of Atlanta; great-nephew, Alex King of Columbus; and special family friends, Chuck and June Corbin of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother, Raymond Handley.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Bishop Charles A. Sims officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
