Each year, The Republic publishes a SALUTE! section focused on the stories of military veterans from Bartholomew County.
The publication runs in conjunction with the free Memorial Day concert presented in downtown Columbus. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the program put on by the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, which is led by Dr. David Bowden.
This year, our theme is “Letters from Home.”
We would like to feature stories of veterans of different eras who kept in close contact with loved ones through letters (print or email), with those willing to share the communications and what those communications meant to families and loved ones.
