BRIDGEPORT, NY
Jesse R. Newsom, 87, of Bridgeport, NY passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in Columbus, Indiana he was a resident of Onondaga County for the past 49 years, formerly of Leesburg, FL and Chambersburg, PA.
He received his Bachelors of Art in Physics in 1954 and Masters in General Business in 1956, both from Indiana University. Jesse worked for GE from 1957-1990 as a Manager of Contract Policies in Exports & Imports and was a member of the National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry and Free Masonry. He is predeceased by his parents, Herschel D. and Blanche I. Newsom and his brother, David H. Newsom. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara J. Newsom; sons, John K. Newsom and Ross M. Newsom of Cicero, NY; daughters, Dorian J. (Brian) Coombs of Cicero, NY and Jenny A. (Joseph) Wheeler of Lafayette, NY; sister-in-law, Diane J. Newsom of Rockville, MD; five grandchildren, Anna, Elise, Crispin & Tabby Coombs and Gregory Wheeler; niece, Victoria A. Newsom and nephews, David A. and Tom H. Newsom.
