Owners of the Columbus food firm Low Carb Revolution would like to thank those they call “front-line heroes working on Easter” amid the COVID-19 crisis with 65 personally donated frozen meals Sunday for employees of Columbus Regional Health.

And the company is inviting the public to sponsor another 113 meals to cover other Columbus Regional Health employees at $5 per meal for a needed total of $565. Owners and married couple Alexa and Samantha Lemley are calling the dinners “health care hero meals.”

Low Carb Revolution frozen meals retail between $8.50 and $12.50, according to the owners. If more than 113 meals are purchased by residents, overage will be donated to workers at other essential businesses working on Easter, the Lemleys said.

Executive chef Alexa Lemley mentioned that Low Carb Revolution meals can be kept and heated on demand to accommodate the various shifts of health care workers.

“I’m proud of the flavor of my low-glycemic and gluten-free meals and am thrilled to thank first-responders for their service,” Alexa Lemley said.

The Lemleys said in a recent interview in The Daily Journal in Franklin that they created Low Carb Revolution as a way to help busy people eat healthier. The chef added that she uses her own uniquely created recipes to make meals that are not only low carb, but free of gluten, sugar, grains, corn and soy, preservatives and trans fats.

The Lemleys have been inspired by their own change to a low-carb diet.

“Our goal is to democratize healthier foods, making them accessible and approachable,” Samantha Lemley said.

The owners said that Low Carb Revolution foods are hand-made with all-natural ingredients, free from cane/beet sugar, corn syrup, grains/gluten, soy, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors, and trans fats.

In the past, Alexa Lemley has earned a range of accolades in food circles. She was named one of the Top 10 Farm to Table Chefs in the nation by the Chef’s Taste Challenge. And her marshmallows were featured in Oprah Winfrey’s magazine O and many other media outlets.
